The broad, meandering stretches of the upper Genesee River are ideal for leisurely canoe trips.
Access to this section of the river is facilitated by 15 equivalent miles of public fishing rights and six footpaths between the state line and the town of Belmont. In addition, there are four state maintained public parking areas on the Genesee River between the state line and the town of Scio.
